The New Contraption

Be vewy vewy quiet. I'm hunting wabbits.

Max and Dad have taken up a new hobby... target shooting with a .22 rifle. Not sure Mom is really hip on this idea; but it is good bonding time for Tom and Max.

Tom decided it was much more fun to shoot at "something", rather than just a target. So here is the latest "Dobson boys" contraption. Actually it worked very well. So well Max said "Dad, I think we should market this."

Max was so excited on Saturday because he passed his hunters safety class. He was one of the high scores in target shooting thanks to all the practice with his Dad.

Now Max can get his hunting license and go shoot ducks and geese with Bokah.

I'm not sure I'm ready for my little boy to be growing up so fast!!

Happy 14 years - Hakuna Matata

14 AMAZING years that we have been married. I am so lucky to have married my best friend. There are so many times that I reflect about our marriage and wonder "how did I get so lucky"? Thanks so much for being the greatest husband, father, and very best friend. I love you! Hakuna Matata.

Hakuna Matata - let me explain. While Tom and I were dating he was the manager of the Villa Theatre. During our short 5 1/2 week courtship The Lion King was released. It was the only movie playing at the Villa Theatre. It ran from the first week we started dating until after we got married in September. I think we saw this show at least 200 times. I would go to the Theatre to visit him while he was working, and ended up sitting through this movie over and over and over again. I think we both had the entire movie memorized. This was a very fun and exciting time in our life. Every time I hear any of the songs from The Lion King, it brings back great memories; especially Hakuna Matata.

Zoo-pendous Day

Another Birthday Celebration! Wow...this 5 yr. old b-day has lasted 3 days. We just keep celebrating. Megan wanted to go to the zoo. It was so much fun.

We were so lucky to have Grandpa join us.

Mya loved riding the carousel with Grandpa. She got off and gave him a great big kiss and told him thank you. It was so cute.

The elephant decided to eat his lunch while we were there. The girls thought it was amazing! Megan thought it would be really cool if we all had trunks.

This was the last day the white alligator was at the zoo. He was on loan from the zoo in Louisiana. It was pretty awesome to see him.

More Birthday Fun

Megan got to go to the Salon and have her hair and nails done as part of her birthday present. She loved it. She was especially excited to have her nails all done with sparkles and flowers. The more sparkles the better! We love you Meg!

Happy 5th Birthday Megan

Megan had her 1st (friend) Birthday Party! It was so much fun. We had a "Horton Hears A Who" party. We played throw the peanut through the elephants mouth, pin the dust speck on the who, and keep the balloon off the ground with our trunks. It was so much fun.

All her friends came to the party. Morgan, Riley, Mya, Zack, Lance, McKenna and Megan. They are waiting patiently for their pizza.

We couldn't find a "Horton Hears A Who" cake so we just had to get the princess cake.

She was able to celebrate her birthday at preschool and was chosen to be the special helper for the day. She was sooo... excited! She said all the kids loved the treats she brought for the kids.

Let the Games Begin - 2008

Friday 08/08/08...opening of the Olympics. We decided to hold our own opening ceremonies and olympic events to celebrate the 08/08/08 Olympics. It was soo...much fun.

We started off the night with Chinese food. Yum, Yum, Yum. Pot Stickers, Rice, Chinese Chicken Salad, Orange Chicken, and of course The Olympic Rings out of cupcakes!! Everyone had a great time visiting and enjoying everyones company.

All the Olympians gathered for their picture in front of our Olympic Rings.

The streets were lined with the Olympians...waiting to run the torch down the street. Then the National Anthem played and the flag was raised. The games were ready to begin!!!

The events consisted of a relay in the Francis' backyard. First you had to throw the exercise ball as far as you could, then run and jump over the hurdle, then the standing long jump, then the high jump landing on an air mattress.

Mya needed the assistance of Max, but she completed the course in record time!! :) Even the adults participated in the fun. Some went over the bar, and some went under the bar.

We all agreed that Kliss had the best form!

Onto the next event...gymnastics at our house. Each participant had to do a trick on the trampoline, walk the balance beam, and then do a cart wheel. The judges held up signs with the scores. This was Megan's favorite event.

Mya's favorite event...licking frosting off the cupcakes. She wanted to make sure each color didn't taste different. She was polite enough to put them all back when she was done with the frosting.

The next event...target shooting. The boys loved this event.

Next, it was the bike race. Luckily there were no accidents. Bikes were lined up and even scooters. Megan actually won this even in her age category, and she was on her scooter while all the others were on their bikes. She's one fast scooter rider.

Max one this even in his age category. I guess all the bike riding this summer has really paid off! :)

Onto the awards ceremony. Everyone at our Olympics are winners. Each one received a Gold Medal. Way to go kids!

Another great event with neighbors and friends. So glad we live in such a fun neighborhood!
