Happy Halloween

Our "Spookiest" Halloween

This Halloween was by far our "spookiest". No, the kids did not dress up spooky. Actually, they were very "cute". Max was a Sheriff, Megan was Sleeping Beauty (with long straight hair), and Mya was Snow White. So...not so spooky at all right??? We had a great day, preschool party, school parade, school party and fun pizza mummies. However, the day became spookier by the minute.

At 4:00 p.m. Tom and Jerry began transforming into Thomalina and Jeraldine. So the story goes...Jerry convinced Tom to dress up this year for Halloween. Of course the deal was that Jerry had to dress up as well. In the 20 yrs that I have known Tom he has NEVER dressed up for Halloween! You might as well go ALL out if your going to do it; according to Tom!

So the transformation begins. The girls thought it was so funny that Dad and Jerry were dressing up as girls. Megan has waited two weeks to see this transformation take place. When we went to purchase his attire, Megan just kept telling people "My Dads going to be a girl". Tom kept telling her that it wasn't necessary to tell EVERYONE! She did a great job helping Dad pick out his outfit. Megan was so impressed with Thomalina's upper body. Both Tom and Jerry went all out; including full nylons, high heels, long fingernails, foundation, blush, mascara, eyeliner, lipstick, eye shadow, and jewelry.

We absolutely loved Jeraldine's beautiful full figure dress. It matches her hair so nicely. Who does your hair? It is absolutely gorgeous!

So finally, everyone was ready. My oh my does it take a long time to put on your makeup girls! Off we went for some trick-or-treating. Good luck walking the neighborhood in those high heels.

The girls were so excited to see their good friend Matt! Way to go Tom and Jerry. You are great sports. You keep us all in laughs. In fact, I don't think I have laughed this hard for years. It was so funny to see all the neighbors reactions. We all had lots of fun. Thanks for making this our spookiest Halloween yet!!! I guess that's what you get when Tom and Jerry live next to each other. Ha ha ha!

Where Did The Time Go!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAX!

Max 11 years ago. October 28th 1997. Weighing in at 7lbs 14 oz. and 19 1/2 inches long. The first thing we noticed...the curl on your head that you still have today! Oh yea, you had very thick feet. Such a cute baby boy. You really haven't changed all that much; still cute! I guess we should say handsome now that you are 11.

Today October 28th 2008. Max's 11 year old birthday! His new "toys" for his birthday... a weed-eater and blower!!! The weed-eater has been on his mind for the last 5 months, and he finally got it.

Today is a bitter-sweet day for Mom and Dad. Max turned 11. Although we are very excited, it is hard to see our little boy grow up. Where did the time go? It seems just like yesterday that we were driving to the hospital to deliver our sweet little baby boy. I-15 was under construction and it took forever to get to the hospital downtown. We were both very nervous but extremely excited. We will never forget the song that was playing on the radio "Bolero" it went on and on and on and ..... Once we arrived at the hospital it was 18 1/2 hours later that you were born. All of the family was awaiting your arrival in the waiting room including Nama, Bokah, Grandpa, Aunt Sue, Uncle Guy, Erin, and Stu. We couldn't wait to see you. It was one of the GREATEST moments in our life; and continues to be to this day.

We are so proud of the accomplishment you have made Max. You are the best big brother and your sisters are so lucky to have you as their big brother. They love you very very much! We want you to know how much we love you. You are a wonderful son and an example to all of us. You are a fine young man and we can't wait to see you continue to grow up and all the many wonderful things you will do. Have a great Birthday! We love you.

Max feeding his new little sister Megan a bottle. You were such a big help, and still are.

Spending quality time with Megan at the Detroit Zoo while Grandma was in the hotel watching our new little sister Mya.

Playing in the pool with Megan in Detroit.

Big Brother for the second time! You never wanted to put Mya down. You were a little older when Mya came so it was much easier for you to hold her.

Max and lawn mowers; for that matter any type of power equipment. From the first time you heard a lawn mower (6 months old) you have loved them. This has been your passion and continues to be your passion. You are the "Lawn Boy"!

Just had to include this picture of you when you were 9 months old. This is one of our favorite pictures of you. You can even see the curl on the top of your head!
We love you Bubba!! Have a WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY!

The New Contraption

Be vewy vewy quiet. I'm hunting wabbits.

Max and Dad have taken up a new hobby... target shooting with a .22 rifle. Not sure Mom is really hip on this idea; but it is good bonding time for Tom and Max.

Tom decided it was much more fun to shoot at "something", rather than just a target. So here is the latest "Dobson boys" contraption. Actually it worked very well. So well Max said "Dad, I think we should market this."

Max was so excited on Saturday because he passed his hunters safety class. He was one of the high scores in target shooting thanks to all the practice with his Dad.

Now Max can get his hunting license and go shoot ducks and geese with Bokah.

I'm not sure I'm ready for my little boy to be growing up so fast!!

Happy 14 years - Hakuna Matata

14 AMAZING years that we have been married. I am so lucky to have married my best friend. There are so many times that I reflect about our marriage and wonder "how did I get so lucky"? Thanks so much for being the greatest husband, father, and very best friend. I love you! Hakuna Matata.

Hakuna Matata - let me explain. While Tom and I were dating he was the manager of the Villa Theatre. During our short 5 1/2 week courtship The Lion King was released. It was the only movie playing at the Villa Theatre. It ran from the first week we started dating until after we got married in September. I think we saw this show at least 200 times. I would go to the Theatre to visit him while he was working, and ended up sitting through this movie over and over and over again. I think we both had the entire movie memorized. This was a very fun and exciting time in our life. Every time I hear any of the songs from The Lion King, it brings back great memories; especially Hakuna Matata.

Zoo-pendous Day

Another Birthday Celebration! Wow...this 5 yr. old b-day has lasted 3 days. We just keep celebrating. Megan wanted to go to the zoo. It was so much fun.

We were so lucky to have Grandpa join us.

Mya loved riding the carousel with Grandpa. She got off and gave him a great big kiss and told him thank you. It was so cute.

The elephant decided to eat his lunch while we were there. The girls thought it was amazing! Megan thought it would be really cool if we all had trunks.

This was the last day the white alligator was at the zoo. He was on loan from the zoo in Louisiana. It was pretty awesome to see him.

More Birthday Fun

Megan got to go to the Salon and have her hair and nails done as part of her birthday present. She loved it. She was especially excited to have her nails all done with sparkles and flowers. The more sparkles the better! We love you Meg!
