The Dentist

Mya had her very first trip to the Dentist. She did great!! Even let them take x-rays of her teeth. She thought it was pretty cool to have her teeth cleaned just like her big sister and brother.
Yea, no cavities. Good job Mya!!

The Firepit

Tom has always dreamed of having a fire pit for the backyard. Well...he finally had a reason to buy one. The reason; scouts! How can you go on a winter camp out without a fire pit???

Now we get to use the fire pit for neighborhood gatherings. It's a lot of fun! The only downside...the entire house ends up smelling like camp fire.
I'm sure this new fire pit will get tons of use cooking and making smores. Glad we made the purchase; it's already been well worth it!

Klondike

Max and Tom got to go on their very first winter campout for scouts Feb. 20-21st. They camped out at Jordanelle. It was COLD!!!!! Even though there was an inch of ice that had built up in the tent overnight, they had a great time.
Sure glad that is not one of Mom's responsabilities!!!!

I'm sure there will be many more campouts to come; especially since Tom was just put in as Second Counselor in the Young Mens Presidency. He is teaching the 12 yr. old Deacons and also Assistant Scout Master.
Lots more fun to come!

Scouts, Scouts and More Scouts

The past few weeks Max has been working really hard on Scouts. He has been attending his second Pow-Wow. He has been working on 3 merit badges... Family Life, Radio, and Citizenship in the Community. Citizenship in the Community required 8 hrs. of community service for a charitable organization. Max spent time working at Deseret Industries, and also collecting books for children to read. The books were then donated to medical office where they would help little kids.

Max sorting books with Thomas and Jayden.

Still sorting and organizing.

Bringing the books in that were collected for the children.

Another part of the requirements for this merit badge was to meet with a government official and ask them questions about issues in the city, and what was being done to resolve issues.
Max got to meet with Mayor Parker for 1 hr. He said it was a great experience and that the Mayor was very cool!!

Max's question of course was about yard care. He wanted to know why the pressure for the irrigated water was so low, and what was being done to fix the problem. The Mayor drew a diagram for Max and explained the pressurized irrigation system, and then told him that they are working on putting another water tank up higher to resolve the problem. Max was excited!!!

CONGRATULATIONS MAX!!! 6 Merit Badges now earned....
