Where Did The Bread Go????

Yesterday, Meg, Mya and I decided to make bread. The girls "painted" the bread pans with grease while I mixed the ingredients. Everything was going great. The bread turned out nice. When it was done baking, Megan was watching me take the bread out of the oven and she looked at me and said "Mom, you made that all by yourself. Good job." All I could do was laugh at such a cute comment. Usually it is Grandma that makes the bread, not Mom.

So...while the bread was cooling, I decided to put a load of wash into the washing machine. When I came back into the kitchen the bread had disappeared. I asked Megan "where did the bread go"? I thought I was losing my mind. I knew it was cooling on the counter when I went to do the wash. She just looked at me with those big brown eyes and said "I don't know." Hmm, o.k. Megan...does the bread have legs? "No". So then the bread could not have walked away, right? Giggle Giggle Giggle. She then left the kitchen and headed for the bedroom. When she came back, amazingly she was holding four loaves of bread. This is how the bread looked. She had taken her cute little hands and pulled the tops off of each loaf! Her comment to me was "I was hungry. Sorry Mom". So much for "pretty" loaves of bread.

I don't blame her. The top crust is the best part!

Same thing happened to me a few years ago. I was making bread...and I was going to take it to my new neighbors...and it got ruined...and that is why my new neighbors never got "welcome to the neighborhood bread". Yep that is what happened. :)

Anyway...jam hides everything.
